Albert Einstein on Violin.  Postcard.  Art by J.S.Faiber.  Published by Art Unlimited, Amsterdam.

This postcard features a striking, vividly colored illustration of an elderly man playing the violin, rendered in a vibrant graphic style that uses bold contrasts and a limited color palette primarily consisting of blue, red, and white. The man is portrayed with exaggerated, distinctive features including a prominent, wild mane of white hair and a thick, fluffy white mustache which give him a wise and somewhat whimsical appearance.

He is dressed in a formal, somewhat disheveled dark blue suit with a light blue shirt and a dark tie, which adds to the portrayal of a figure who is both dignified and absorbed in his art. The man's eyes, slightly downturned, focus intently on the fingerboard of the violin, suggesting deep concentration and passion for the music. The violin and the bow are depicted in a brilliant red, making them the visual focal point of the image and symbolically representing the vibrancy and emotion of the music being played.

The background is a simple, deep blue which serves to highlight the figure and his instrument. This minimalistic backdrop ensures that the viewer's attention is drawn immediately to the subject and his dynamic pose, capturing a moment of artistic immersion and expression.

The overall aesthetic of the postcard is both contemporary and graphic, utilizing stark color contrasts and clean lines to create an image that is both visually striking and emotionally engaging. The depiction serves not just as a portrait of a man playing an instrument, but as a celebration of creativity, dedication, and the enduring impact of passion on both the artist and the audience.
