Billy Hassell’s vivid paintings are rooted in a deep sense of place. An
artist and conservationist since childhood, he roamed the creeks and
uncultivated areas around Dallas and began his life’s work by drawing
the lizards and other creatures he carried home in his pockets. His work
invites viewers to be quiet: take in the flutter of butterfly wings,
consider the watchful roadrunner on alert.
A dozen of his scenes are
collected in this calendar for your contemplative gaze.
