Winona LaDuke. "Someone needs to explain to me why wanting clean drinking water makes you an activist, and why proposing to destroy water with chemical warfare doesn't make a corporation a terrorist." Postcard.
Winona LaDuke. Native environmentalist, activist & author. Co-founder of Honor The Earth. Honor the Earth is a Native-led organization, established in 1993 to address the two primary needs of the Native environmental movement: the need to break the geographic and political isolation of Native communities and the need to increase financial resources for organizing and change. There is a reference to their website on the back of this postcard.
Fracking is the highly controversial method of extracting natural gas, often at the expense of human health & contaminated water supplies. It seems that is what Winona LaDuke is referring to in the quote on the front of this card. Fracking is usually carried out by big corporation searching for Natural Gas deposits, and such corporations are somehow never referred to as "terrorists", no matter how dangerous to people and the environment their actions are. Anyone out there who can explain this?
