How many can you name? This is now the Revised Version #1.
Pictured here from top left: First Row: Tupac Shakur, Bob Dylan, Lucille Ball, Jimi Hendrix, Albert Einstein, John Lennon, Malcolm X. Second Row: Janis Joplin, Lenny Bruce, Cesar Chavez, Josephine Baker, Mumia Abu-Jamal, Marilyn Monroe, Pablo Picasso. Bottom Row: Leonard Peltier, Jane Fonda, Abbie Hoffman, Edward Snowden, Martin Luther King, Andy Warhol, and Dick Gregory.
Note that Leonard Peltier was just released from Prison by Joe Biden in the last few hours of his presidency. After almost 50 years, this was long overdue. The original trial for the killing of 2 FBI agents was very problematic and this was always a sham. But from our understanding, the head of the FBI opposed his prison release right up to the end of Biden's presidency. Perhaps this is why Clinton or Obama did not have the courage to do it. At any rate, Leonard is certainly a Hero for many, and we celebrate his freedom.
This list could be much longer, but these are the people featured on this popular postcard. Be sure to look up Version 2 of "All My Heroes Have FBI Files" Postcard. That one features an entirely different cast of heroes.
The investigations done on these people were very different from what the FBI did for Brett Kavanaugh. Quite a double standard! Ever wonder why that is? While we might hope that someday the FBI could take action for truth and justice, we need to remember that historically they have tended to act on the side of oppression. What could it take for that to change?
